It is with deep sorrow that we have to pass on the sad news that former Cheltenham branch chairman John Crossley passed away on Sunday 21st June after a short illness.

John, who will be remembered as “Jaipur John” from his love of the Thornbridge beer, was a member of the Cheltenham branch committee from its formation and served in a number of roles including pubs officer, transport officer and two years as Chairman.  As pubs officer John was responsible for putting in all the hard work to populate the over 100 Cheltenham pubs and clubs on to “What Pub”.  He also produced the artwork for our pubs map leaflet.

Our thoughts and wishes go to his partner Sally and two sons who he leaves behind.

Details of the funeral arrangements will be posted when we have them.

RIP John , you will be missed by all those in CAMRA and the Cheltenham pub community who knew you
