It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of Martin Parker.
Martin was chairman of the Cotswold Beer festival organising committee for nearly 20 years before handing over the reins a few years ago. Martin Parker was first involved with this festival over 40 years ago, initially as an ordinary helper behind the bar. He was persuaded to join the organising committee three years later and then worked tireless for the festival to make it become the festival it is today before stepping back and relaxing.
Martin had a fall on 2 October on a small step near his front door. He fractured his pelvis and was admitted to hospital. While there he caught pneumonia, and he died of heart failure on 6 October. He was 82.
His funeral will be at 11:30 on Tuesday 3 November in the Willow Chapel at Cheltenham crematorium.
We passon on our condolenceses, thoughts and best wishes to his wife Brenda who he leaves behind.
