January is always a difficult time for pubs and clubs with people often spent up or partied out after Christmas.  Added to this there is now pressure from charities, and the like, to undertake Dry January.  There couldn’t be a worse time of year for people to boycott pubs.  We do not wish to harm fundraising efforts by charities, and we support anyone choosing to moderate their alcohol intake however one of the main aims of CAMRA is to support pubs and clubs. Please remember that pubs and clubs are the home of responsible drinking.  You can help pubs and still take part in these challenges, if you want, by going to pubs and switching to no or low alcohol alternatives rather than avoiding the pub altogether.

Pub and club going has social and wellbeing benefits, and we want to encourage people to enjoy this year-round. Remember alongside the real ales pubs offer a great range of non-alcoholic beers and soft drinks and even tea or coffee.  Please help support pubs and clubs so that they are there for you all year round.
