The selection process for next year’s Good Beer Guide (GBG) never stops and thoughts are already turning to the 2024 edition. We will need to make our branch selections by this April, but the process needs data. Although the selection isn’t based solely on What Pub beer scores, the more scores a pub or club has, the better chance that it will be fairly judged for potential entry in the guide.

Much as we would like too, the committee can’t regularly visit all the 120 pubs and clubs in our branch area, so there might be a real ale gem out there we are missing. If every time a member goes to a pub they enter a beer score on What Pub we would get a fuller picture of the beer quality in Cheltenham. If you need help in beer scoring have a chat with one of the committee.

More details on how to score a beer can be found HERE, originally published by our CAMRA colleaguess in Dover and Deal.
